OTTAWA — There will be a ceremony of remembrance at the National Military Cemetery on November 11th, 2006, at 10:30 am. The ceremony will honour those Canadian Forces members interred at the Cemetery, and all of those who have fallen in the service of Canada.

The ceremony will include the laying of wreaths, two minutes of silence, and a CF-18 flypast. Among honoured guests laying wreaths in memory of those interred at the Cemetery will be Mrs Tina Beerenfenger and Mrs Wilhemina Beerenfenger, the widow and mother of Corporal Robbie Beerenfenger, who died in Afghanistan in 2003, and members of 2 Combat Engineer Regiment for their comrade Sergeant Shane Stachnik, who died in Afghanistan in September this year.

Where: the National Military Cemetery, on the grounds of Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa.  Enter from either Beechwood Avenue or St Laurent Avenue; once inside, there will be signs to guide traffic to the National Military Cemetery.

When:  Saturday, November 11th, 2006.

Time:  10:30 to 12:00 noon (EST).
