More than 3000 Canadian Forces (CF) soldiers from 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5 CMBG) are participating in EXERCISE MAPLE RESOLVE, a complex and high-level training at the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre from October 4 to November 11, 2012 in Wainwright, AB.

Some of the 3000 Canadian Forces (CF) members from the Army and Air Force along with United States soldiers will be deployed to Canadian Forces Base Wainwright to participate in Exercise Maple Resolve.
Exercise Maple Resolve is a month long exercise held in October by the 5th Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5CMBG) from Valcartier, QC. The exercise will provide valuable training to CF members should any request for deployment arise in the coming year.

A convoy composed mainly of Canadian Forces Leopard 2 tanks navigate through a field and towards Kandahar Airfield for the last time in June 2011. OP CARCAJOU SANGLIER marked the first wave of returning vehicles to Kandahar Airfield signifying the beginning of the closure of the Canadian mission in Southern Afghanistan. From here, the vehicles were packaged and prepared for their return to Canada.
